Fokke De Jong VP and Co-Owner Fokke is an experienced Manager of yacht dealerships with over 25 years in the industry. He directs the daily activities of Eastern Yachts’ sales and service force in the Port of Palm Beach location. He is a native of Holland and is fluent in English, Dutch, German, and French. Fokke majored in Ship Engineering in Holland and gained experience through the years in supervisor positions in the marine industry; planning, organizing, and developing yacht sales, achieving multi-million dollar sales, improving service standards, performing boat repairs, executing boat surveys for trade-in transactions and directing the Service Department. Fokke has an extensive background in boating and yachting including the following: - Grew up sailing a wooden gaff rigged boat his father built for him and raced this for many years. He also raced in various Dutch Classic One Design classes and Dragons all over Europe.
- At age 26, Fokke bought a 29’ Dave Hillyard Classic Cutter, cruising it extensively including sailing it from Holland to Morroco.
- In the US he raced extensively on a Peterson 34 IOR racer, Hobie 33’s with Steve Mehl winning the NE Championship, 110 One Design, J24’s and Snipes.
- Bought a new S2 6.9 in 1984 and sailed it to Montego Bay, Jamaica.
- Built an Interclub dinghy from scratch, this dinghy later won the Nationals.
