Your new yacht will be fully commissioned and launched by our service department, which will be happy to handle any warranty paperwork or equipment modifications you may desire. No restrictions on owner use

Yet she's yours when you want to sail her! Unlike some charter management programs that place numerous restrictions on owner use, we never forget whose boat it is. You may use your yacht anytime, any day of the year, for as long as you want - no strings attached. And you'll love exploring the crystal clear waters of the Florida Keys or exotic ports of the nearby Bahamas. (To maximize charter revenues it's advisable to make the yacht available to charter during the high season and holidays if possible).

Maintenance

One of the integral features of FYC's ownership program is that your yacht will receive excellent care. Our service technicians are especially diligent in maintaining your yacht. Before and after each charter, your yacht is thoroughly inspected (including an underwater dive inspection) and cleaned, at no charge to the owner. Reasonable routine maintenance, (time and materials) are clearly itemized using a computerized work order system and deducted from the monthly charter income. A schedule of engine service, oil changes and other routine maintenance is logged and Owners are consulted on any additional maintenance items as they arise. Items lost or damaged by charter guests are replaced or repaired at no cost to owners

Flexible one-year contract

Our Charter Management Contract is straight-forward and easy to understand. It is flexible and can be renewed annually for up to five years. That means if next year you want to take that long cruise in the islands, no problem! If you want to take your boat "north" for the summer, no problem! We have several fleet locations and you may try another location each year. And if, in a few years, you decide to sell your boat, our experienced yacht brokerage staff will be happy to list it for you, or take it in trade on your next new boat!

No gimmicks

We have a simple, clear business relationship with each of our owners. We do not try to cleverly disguise the expenses of yacht ownership, such as insurance and maintenance by inflating the purchase price of your yacht, requiring a huge down payment or increasing the management fees. We split the net charter revenue 50\50 with each owner, which is our primary source of income. FYC pays for all advertising; administration; accounting; cleaning and inventorying of the yacht; charter check-outs/orientation; in addition to providing year-round staff and office facilities at each charter base. The owner pays for dockage, insurance and routine maintenance, which may become tax deductible depending on your personal financial situation.

Free sailing certification

When you purchase a new yacht for placement in our charter fleet, we'll teach you to sail her or help you improve your sailing skills so you get the most enjoyment from your time on board (and a nationally recognized sailing certificate). Charter yacht owners are invited to attend Florida Yacht's Adventure Sailing School, certified by the American Sailing Association and voted "The Best Sail Training Center in the Southeast." Our U.S. Coast Guard licensed and ASA qualified instructors teach students aboard the boats in our charter fleet. Many of these students later charter the boats they learned on. That means extra income to you and better-qualified charter guests!

As gratifying as yacht ownership is, it tends to cost more than most people originally budget for and that is why charter management is a good option to reducing ownership costs. With the new tax laws currently in effect you will find that those costs can be even further reduced. You could own your yacht in about 25% of the time at about 25% of the cost that could form part of your retirement plan.

You can legitimately divert some of the taxes that you're already paying to create equity in your new yacht. Buying a new yacht and placing it in charter service is an effective business tool provided the business is set up correctly and the operation structured to qualify for the tax benefits and remain in compliance going forward. All the experts agree that 2011 may be the best year ever to buy a yacht.

In an effort to stimulate the economy, the U.S. Congress enacted The 2010 Tax Relief Act, which benefits businesses by increasing the 50-percent bonus depreciation deduction available previously to a 100-percent deduction for qualified investments made before January 1, 2012.

What does this mean for you? This is the perfect opportunity for anyone looking to buy a new yacht at a huge discount - the entire cost of a new yacht can be depreciated this year, and allows you to reach back and recover taxes paid in 2010, you can apply the deduction this year or carry it forward to 2012! 

Congress has repeatedly increased the Sec. 179 deduction and investment limits to encourage spending by businesses. For tax years beginning in 2010 and 2011, the 2010 Small Business Jobs Act increased the Code Sec. 179 deduction and investment limits to $500,000 and $2 million, respectively. As a result, businesses are now allowed to expense the purchase of up to $500,000 in new and used assets placed in service during the tax year.

Your Yacht

Your yacht is a custom built Fountaine-Pajot TradeWinds 59 catamaran, especially designed by naval architects Berret-Racoupeau, with your comfort in mind, and it will be available for cruising in the Caribbean in early 2012. There is a beautiful luxurious master suite for you, the owner, and three double cabins for your guests – all with island beds and private en-suite bathrooms. Your yacht is fully air conditioned, with a spacious custom designed interior.

A comfortable saloon and open plan dining area comes fully equipped for you and your guests. Sumptious sofas on the upper deck create the perfect setting for cocktails in a tranquil bay where you can just chill out and watch the world go by.
